Immotion Announces Mandalay Bay Partnership

Immotion Group are delighted to announce a new and exclusive partnership with the MGM Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, which will see the installation of a 36-seat VR theatre and interactive exhibit, our largest to date, at the resort’s Shark Reef Aquarium.

Mandalay Bay is a unique destination resort set on 120 acres on Las Vegas Boulevard. Their Shark Reef Aquarium is home to more than 2,000 animals, including sharks, giant stingrays, endangered green sea turtles and a Komodo dragon.

Shark Reef Aquarium is committed to natural resource conservation and has implemented several initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, including converting exhibit lighting to LED, installing variable frequency drive motors on their pumps, recycling exhibit water and purchasing sustainable food.

CEO of Immotion, Martin Higginson saidThere is great excitement for the launch of our largest installation in one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, Las Vegas. Our partnership with MGM Resorts International and its Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will set the trend for larger and more integrated immersive experiences to come.

We see further significant growth in both the aquarium sector for our Ocean Explorer VR experiences, as well as iconic city locations for our tailored Tower Coaster VR offering, especially with the new larger multi-user VR cinematic solution. 2020 will see us launch new ‘edutainment’ experiences aimed at zoos, science centres and museums as well as high traffic destinations.”
