IMMOTION PRESIDENT JOINS THE ADVANCED IMAGING SOCIETY’S BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The Advanced Imaging Society, the Hollywood-based association championing artistic and technical achievement in film, television and other media, has invited Immotion President Rod Findley to join their Board of Governors. As the head of Immotion, the global leader in immersive edutainment, Findley brings his expertise in XR and immersive experiences to a board whose members hail from Pixar, Warner Brothers Discovery, Microsoft and Google among others.
The AIS is best known for its prestigious Lumiere Awards honoring distinguished creative and technical achievement in film and TV. Historical winners include Martin Scorsese, Ang Lee, Jon Favreau, and Jeffrey Katzenberg, and 2023 saw James Cameron, Guillermo del Toro, Baz Luhrmann and Damien Chazelle win honors, with Immotion taking home the statuette in the Best Use of VR category for its ground-breaking GORILLA TREK documentary experience.
With its Emmy Award-winning content team and cutting-edge developers, Immotion utilizes the latest in XR technologies to create experiential centers like GORILLA TREK for institutions, such as aquariums and zoos, that seek to educate and inspire guests with a message of conservation. Immotion’s VR theaters, which combine 360° 3D experiences with motion-based seating, can be found in over 40 zoos and aquariums worldwide, from Chicago to Shanghai, Las Vegas to London. Over two million people worldwide have partaken in Immotion’s VR experiences to date.
“I’m honored to be joining the AIS’s Board of Governors,” said President Rod Findley. “Immotion’s mission of pioneering immersive edutainment technology to spread the gospel of conservation dovetails perfectly with AIS’s mission to promote the advancement of cutting-edge entertainment technologies in the service of the artists’ vision. I look forward to contributing toward the further advancement of innovative XR.”
